What is baby sleep coaching without the crying?
Baby sleep coaching is all about working with your baby, helping your little one learn how to fall asleep in a gentle, caring way. Supporting your little one all the way, encouraging positive sleep habits and healthy sleep associations, you set your little one up to become a great independent little sleeper.
Does my baby need to be a certain age to be taught how to sleep?
The sooner you begin to encourage positive sleep habits and sleep associations the better. Newborn being idea working all the way until 2.5 years old.
How long does it take to teach sleep and fix a sleep problem?
For babies 6 months and older it generally takes around 5 nights to help change a sleep habit and establish a new one. For some babies it takes a little longer. By working with Happy Baby & Me you will have constant support until you get your little one sleeping. By teaching sleep gently and taking you and your baby into account, the solution to your sleep issues will be tailor made to specifically suit you and your baby. As you move forward we will be able to see if and where you need to tweak in order to help your little one achieve peaceful nights.
How do I prepare for your arrival?
When spending the night with you, your baby sleep coach will need a place to sleep. If you have a newborn baby your baby sleep coach will sleep with your baby in the same room, bringing your baby to you to breastfeed during the night an helping to settle baby back to sleep after his/her feed, including burping and nappy changing. If your baby is bottle fed, your baby sleep and can go ahead and feed baby whilst you get all the rest you can.
If your baby sleep coach will be joining you to trouble shoot and solve a sleep issue and teach your little one the skill of falling asleep independently, she will need a separate room to the baby. She will also need a baby monitor to use throughout the night.
What qualifications do your baby sleep coaches have?
All the baby sleep coaches at Happy Baby And Me are fully accredited sleep trainers, with great experience in childcare, have up to date first aid and are all CRB checked.
Is teaching sleep traumatic to my child?
Teaching sleep when done in the right way should not be traumatic for you or your child. Happy Baby And Me will never allow for your child to ‘cry it out’ which is stressful to both baby and parent. When done in a caring, reassuring way, working with both you and your little ones best interests at heart, the process is as stress free as possible.
